                            (For a)

         D A
For a while there, it was rough
               E F#m
But lately, I've been doin' bet-ter
            D A
Than the last four cold De-cem-bers
        E
   I re-call

                D A
   And I see my fam-'ly ev-'ry month
             E F#m
   I found a girl my par-ents love
                   D
She'll come and stay the night
       A E
And I... think I might have it all

         D A
And I thank God eve-'ry day
           E Fdim7 F#m
For the girl He sent my way
         D A
But I know the things He gives me
                 E
   He can take a-way

         D A
And I hold you ev-'ry night
                F#m7 E D
   And that's a feeling I wan-na get used to
                  Bm7
But there's no man as terrified
          E7
As the man who stands to lose you...

These beautiful things that I've got

Notes:

Beginners can play all the open position chords, and you can replace the F#m with F#m7 which is technically a barre chord, but a very easy one... see charts above.

The Fdim7 may look a little scary but it is very easy to play. The xx3434 is charted, but the xx0101 inversion sounds great as well.

6/8 time represents 6 eighth-note beats per bar

After the change in time signature, you can play power chords where distortion occurs - 6 down-strokes per bar.

The Power Chords that come into play over-ride the following:
A → A5
D → D5
E → E5

Righties:
A5 D5 E5

Lefties:
A5 D5 E5

Great song, great artist!
