Down Under was written by Ron Strykert and Colin Hay, lead singer of Australian rock band 'Men at Work'. It was released in 1981 and was a huge success worldwide, topping the charts in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Switzerland, and the US.

Tones and I (stage name of Australian singer-songwriter, Toni Watson) released a cover of the song on April 5, 2024. This release was part of a promotional campaign for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, specifically highlighting Australian athletes from previous games.
