Enya, born Eithne Pádraigín Ní Bhraonáin on May 17, 1961, in Gweedore, County Donegal, Ireland, is an Irish singer, songwriter, and musician renowned for her unique blend of Celtic, pop, world, and new-age music. 

She began her musical journey in 1980 as a member of her family's band, Clannad, before embarking on a successful solo career. 

A multi-instrumentalist known for her ethereal vocals and layered soundscapes, Enya has been active from 1980 to the present. 

Her collaborations include associations with Clannad and contributions alongside family members such as Moya Brennan and Brídín Brennan.
